On the night of Monday to Tuesday, in Corte, in central Corsica, a man in his forties, only known to the authorities for a traffic offense, was shot in the head. The events occurred around 4:20 a.m. The victim was in a nightclub in the Corsican sub-prefecture "when he would have had an altercation and a shot after this altercation", according to statements to the prosecutor of the Republic of Bastia Caroline Tharot.

"He was evacuated by the firefighters and died during his transfer to the Bastia hospital center," said the magistrate. The prosecution of Bastia opened an investigation for murder which was entrusted to the research section of the gendarmerie.
