American Mikaela Shiffrin, on her way to a fourth consecutive big crystal globe, will not participate in the Alpine Ski World Cup stage in Sochi (Russia) this weekend, the American team announced on Twitter on Tuesday .

"She (Shiffrin) wants to take a week + off + to rest and enjoy a good training block, while the weather announces rain and snow in Sochi," writes the American team, while the he Sochi stage has a descent on Saturday and a super-G on Sunday.

Mikaela Shiffrin remains on an excellent World Cup weekend in Bansko (Bulgaria), with two downhill and super-G victories, and a 4th place on another downhill, all speed races while she is a specialist "technical" tests (slalom and giant).

The 24-year-old American, who has six successes this season, is largely at the top of the general classification of the World Cup with 370 points more than her Italian pursuer Federica Brignone.

Mikaela Shiffrin could thus return to Garmisch (Germany) on February 8 and 9 for another weekend devoted to speed.
