For the 14,000 people who passed in 2019, 350 items were seized that were considered dangerous: knives, knuckles, golf clubs and bats. In 2018, 169 items were seized.

No incidents

Some constitute a violation of the Knife Act and police reports. Other items, such as umbrellas, beer cans and scissors, get the visitor back when they leave the court again.

- We have not had any incidents with weapons here at the District Court. Not even before we introduced the security checks, says the security coordinator at the court Henrik Ahllrot.

There is a tendency towards things not noted by the metal detector. Therefore, in the future, X-ray equipment may also be brought to the District Court. It could also reveal things like plastic knuckles and ceramic knives.
