Mohamed bin Zayed: The UAE is committed to supporting peace and promoting coexistence at the regional and international arenas

His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Deputy Supreme Commander of the Armed Forces, held official talks with the President of the friendly Republic of Kazakhstan, Qasim Gomart Tokayev, during which the His Highness affirmed that both the UAE and Kazakhstan are working to enhance joint action within the Organization of the Islamic Conference And to preserve the unity of the organization and activate its role in facing challenges, stressing that Kazakhstan is an important pillar of joint Islamic action.

On the tensions in the region, His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan stressed the principles of the UAE, based on a commitment to support peace, resolve disputes by peaceful means, and promote tolerance and coexistence on the regional and international arenas.

The talks between the two sides, held at Al-Watan Palace in Abu Dhabi, dealt with bilateral relations and ways of developing them and moving them forward in the interest of the two friendly countries and peoples, as well as the situation in the Arab Gulf region, the Middle East and Asia, and regional and international issues of common concern.

At the beginning of the talks, His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan welcomed the President of Kazakhstan, and conveyed to him the greetings of His Highness Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan, President of the State, and his wishes for the Republic of Kazakhstan and its people for continued progress and prosperity.

Addressing Tokayev, His Highness said: “I would like from your Excellency to convey the greetings of His Highness the President of the State and my regards to (the father of the nation) dear friend His Excellency Noor Sultan Nazarbayev, who had a distinguished role with the founding father Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan, may God have mercy on him, in strengthening relations between the Emirates And Kazakhstan, through the strong friendship between the two historical leaders for many years.

His Highness pointed out that the relations between the UAE and Kazakhstan since its establishment are characterized by strength, depth and privacy, and that the state gives great importance to these relations, especially as the fields of cooperation between the two countries are large and varied. His Highness praised the results of the joint committee meeting between the two countries, which was held in Abu Dhabi during the month of September 2019.

His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan stressed that the trade exchange between the UAE and Kazakhstan has developed and doubled during the recent period, as the UAE has become the first commercial partner for Kazakhstan in the Arab world, and Kazakhstan is also the main center for Emirati investments in the Central Asia region.

His Highness hailed the great cooperation between the UAE and Kazakhstan in the field of space, pointing to the launch of the first Emirati astronaut to the International Space Station, last year, from the Kazakh Baikonur space base, stressing that the UAE is keen to expand and deepen this cooperation with Kazakhstan during the coming period.

And His Highness expressed his full confidence that the visit of the President of Kazakhstan to the UAE contributes greatly to strengthening bilateral cooperation and upgrading relations in all fields to higher levels.

For his part, the President of Kazakhstan expressed his thanks and appreciation for the generous hospitality and good reception, and said that «this official visit is the first in my capacity as President of Kazakhstan, and indicates that it is one of the priorities of our policy towards the United Arab Emirates».

He added: "I take this opportunity to convey the greetings of First President Nur Sultan to His Highness Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan, and His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan."

He said that «the relations between the UAE and Kazakhstan are distinguished, and thanks to them we have reached tangible results, you referred to them in your talk.

President Kasem Gomart Tokayev added: "We have sincere ties of friendship, and I have full confidence that the horizons of our relations are wide and broad, and the aim of my visit is to give a new impetus to the progress of these relations." He stated that "time does not stop, and therefore we must search for new ways of cooperation and interaction between us."

He pointed out that the next year the UAE celebrates the 50th anniversary, and the Republic of Kazakhstan marks the 30th anniversary of independence, which is an important stage for Kazakhstan.

He added: "During the 28 years of establishing diplomatic relations, the rules of which were laid down by the first president, Nur Sultan, and the late Sheikh Zayed, strong and solid relations were established, especially in the economic, commercial and cultural fields, and there is great activity between businessmen in the two countries," noting that " There are 350 joint institutions between us, and we must refer to the Abu Dhabi Plaza complex, which will be completed in the Kazakh capital - the city of Nur-Sultan - soon. ”
