The number of deaths due to infection with the new Coronavirus in China has risen to 80, while 2761 cases have been confirmed, of which 461 are in critical condition.
In a statement issued on Monday, the National Health Commission of China said that during the past 24 hours, there were 769 confirmed new cases, 3806 new suspected cases and 24 new deaths from the disease, all in Hubei Province in central China.
The commission added that 51 people have recovered from the infection, and there are still 5,794 patients suspected of contracting the virus.
