- Klavdia Viktorovna, a little over a year has passed since you were handed a Russian passport. What did you do first when you finally became a citizen of Russia?

- After receiving my passport, I began to apply for a pension. Of course, I counted the length of service only in Russia, and over 20 years of work in Ukraine burned out. Therefore, I receive only a pension for my deceased husband. He was a naval officer. There were big problems with its design, because it was necessary to provide his personal file, and it was stored in one of the military commissariats in Donetsk. I myself filled out the documents at the Military Commissariat of the city of Moscow, department specialists sent requests to Donetsk three times, but they allegedly did not receive them. It was not even a problem, but some kind of stupidity.

- How many documents did you expect from Donetsk in the end?

- In June (2018. - RT ) I received a passport, and until December we were waiting for my husband’s personal file. Then it was just tired and we ourselves, consider, pulled out these documents from the military enlistment office. A friend of my relatives went on vacation to Lugansk for the New Year for two weeks, and we asked him to go to the draft board to pick up the case. There, of course, acquaintances also helped, so that the documents were handed personally to our person. He brought them, and on the same day we took everything to the draft board. Everything was immediately calculated there, instantly. But as a result, her husband's pension could be issued only in February 2019.

- So, eight months, while you were waiting for documents from the military registration and enlistment office, you weren’t paid?

- Yes, but then they called back from the Military Commissariat of the city of Moscow and said that it was decided to recount the pension and give out the money from the moment of delivery of the Russian passport to me. In June, the entire amount was given out, but to be honest, it did not bring much joy. To remember all this paperwork is sickening. I never thought that it would be such a complicated and long process. Starting with the fact that at first I could not get either a passport or permits, because no one paid attention that I was a blockade and I have the right to a simplified procedure for obtaining citizenship. By the way, recently from the Governor of St. Petersburg Alexander Beglov they handed me a memorial sign “Resident of the besieged Leningrad”.

- How did this happen?

- Such nice girls came to our home. Cheerful, nice. They congratulated me, gave me flowers, handed me the sign. We talked, laughed. Such attention was very pleasant ... Russia takes seriously everything related to the Great Patriotic War. And I am pleased that I am at home.

- Did you have any problems with applying for benefits?

- No, everything was done quickly and in a timely manner. I was immediately given a Muscovite social card. Travel is free on it, discounts in stores, pharmacies.

- In general, how are you? How are you feeling?

- Things are fine with me, I get my pension on time ... My hands hurt, but there's nothing to be done about it - age.

- Does the sanatorium offer you free tickets?

- Yes, but I'm wild (laughs) , so I refuse. There you need to undergo different examinations, live with strangers in the same room, I don’t want to. I am a wild person in this sense. I feel better in my “village”.

- You do not live in Moscow now?

- I live in the suburbs, in a beautiful military town. The atmosphere is familiar to me here. So my whole life has lived with her husband. Everything is very serious - we are behind the barrier, the passage is only through the passes. It’s just that you won’t pass to us, you won’t pass, you will not creep. But we have a beautiful forest, a beautiful lake Senezh. And when I come to Moscow, very soon I want to go back to my place, to nature.

- What do you do at home?

- I read without ceasing. I have a laptop, tablet, so I’m not limited in anything and what I want is what I do.

- What books are you reading?

- Now I am reading the novel “Shogun” by American writer James Clavell. I read his books before, but did not reach this hand. This is a historical novel about Japan, I am very interested. I also walk, cook, raise a cat (laughs) . She's street, but that doesn't matter.

- Do you miss Donetsk?

- I really miss you. First of all, for work and people. I do not have enough communication. Girls from there write every day. Messages are sent or called. And here, in a military town, good people. I know this category of people - these are former military personnel, pensioners. Everyone helps me. This year, apples were filled up.

- A year ago, when asked what you would like, you answered: get a Russian passport. Now you have a Russian passport. What are your dreams now?

- I have everything. I wanted the children to live with me, but they work. In Moscow, everything is in business, everyone is busy, but I am not complaining. I have wonderful children, grandchildren. My ex-daughter-in-law often comes to me, I hardly even call her ex-daughter, she is like a daughter to me. It always helps. I want to be healthy, live calmly, so as not to interfere with my children.

After the publication of the publication on Claudia Maltseva, RT agreed with the Ministry of Internal Affairs on cooperation on topics related to citizenship. Over the course of a year and a half of the One-on-One project, 22 compatriots were issued Russian passports and more than 40 received permits for residence in Russia. In October 2018, RT editor-in-chief Margarita Simonyan presented the project to President Vladimir Putin, after which he signed a new concept of migration policy, thanks to which compatriots had more opportunities to apply for citizenship without bureaucratic obstacles.
