An Iranian academic specialized in international law explained that the nuclear agreement between his country and a number of major countries does not allow any party to withdraw from it except for a vital national necessity, and he warned Tehran against increasing political and legal pressure on it if it withdrew, indicating that the withdrawal would not be in the interest of his country.

In a commentary published by the Iranian newspaper "Arman Melli", Professor Yusef Walai said, "The tenth article of the nuclear agreement allows member states to exit from the agreement if they see that their supreme national interests are at risk by remaining in the agreement, in which case they must persuade the parties." Other Security Council and the International Atomic Energy Agency, and notify them three months before the withdrawal.

Possible fallout
And in his stop before the legal dimensions of the withdrawal option and its possible repercussions on Tehran against the background of Iranian Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif’s insinuation of his country's withdrawal, my loyalty stressed that the failure to implement the terms of the agreement by some of the signatory parties is not a convincing reason for the international circles to withdraw, and that there are strict laws applied to the exit Of agreement.

Zarif had confirmed last week that his country would withdraw from the agreement if the Iranian nuclear file was referred to the United Nations Security Council.

The writer warned against leaving his country without observing the above conditions, and he expected a great response from the global circles, as happened after North Korea's exit from a similar treaty, saying that the strong response to the unilateral exit is due to the international community’s belief that Iran does not wish to monitor international organizations over its nuclear activities, And to negative international expectations about his country's nuclear program and the prospects of it coming out of its peaceful framework.

Violating others does not justify your violation
He added that leaving the agreement does not mean allowing violations of the specifications and laws related to atomic energy, and he expected the Security Council to intervene, in case of withdrawal, under the pretext of security concern and issue international resolutions against his country.

Iranian President Hassan Rouhani has blamed the European countries for the consequences of the breach of the nuclear agreement, stressing that Iran is ready to fulfill all its obligations if the European countries adhere, stressing at the same time that his country is not seeking to obtain nuclear weapons, and that this is inconsistent with the fatwa of Iran's Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei prohibiting possession nuclear weapon.

Rouhani's comments came days after the three European countries activated the dispute settlement mechanism this month because of what it described as "Iranian violations", in a sign of Tehran's scaling back of its obligations regarding uranium enrichment and the operation of centrifuges in its nuclear reactors.
