It was at the end of October last year that the police, unsuccessfully, tried to stop an A-tractor at a speed high above the permitted in Vännäs. Only in Bjurholm could the police stop the car. Behind the wheel sat a 15-year-old who is now sentenced in Umeå District Court.

According to the district court, the boy's actions entailed a deliberate risk-taking of serious kind when, among other things, he traveled as fast as 140 kilometers per hour and even ignored the stoplight.

He also refused to stop at the police stop attempt because he wanted to get away from the police. On Fällforsvägen, towards road 92 he drove 100-120 kilometers per hour and again did not observe the stop light. The speed then commuted between 120-170 kilometers per hour.

All in all, the conduct shall be assessed as gross negligence in traffic, which he is also convicted of. He is also convicted of unlawful driving.

The 15-year-old has admitted illegal driving and carelessness in traffic of the normal degree. Considering the boy's young age, he is sentenced to 30 years of youth service.
