" We loose nothing ! It was a key date for opponents of the pension reform. They beat the pavement again this Friday, throughout France, to demand the withdrawal of the government bill. The text, which provides for a retirement by points and a so-called universal system, was presented in the Council of Ministers on Friday and transmitted immediately to the National Assembly, before a debate scheduled for February.

Strikers and demonstrators still display the same determination, on the 51st day of mobilization, as 20 Minutes has seen in the Parisian procession. There were 350,000 to 400,000 demonstrators, according to the CGT, and 31,000 according to the Prefecture of Police, to march from Place de la République to Place de la Concorde.

Elsewhere in France, around 249,000 demonstrators were identified by the Ministry of the Interior. A new national mobilization day is scheduled for January 29.
