The first confirmed case must have been discovered in Bordeaux and the second case in the capital Paris.
According to Chinese authorities, at least 26 people have died as a result of the virus and about 900 have been infected, the AP reports.
The virus has already been confirmed in China, Thailand, Taiwan, South Korea, Singapore, Japan, USA, Saudi Arabia and Vietnam.
