Qatari Fatima Al-Shayeb did not know that the time she spent with her elderly daughter in riding a bicycle would be the shortest way to build bridges of trust and friendship between them, and to make the ties of family relationship solid after a period of oscillation.

The experience of participating in the "Mother and Girl" event organized by the Draghi Qatar Center in cooperation with the Family Consultation Center "Wefaq" on the Lusail International Circuit, a beautiful dream Fatima lived with the dearest thing she has in the world.

The "mother and daughter" event witnessed the presence of two hundred participants from mothers and their daughters, as well as sons under the age of nine, in a distinctive enthusiastic family atmosphere, including 150 participants from female citizens and 50 residents.

She became a friend of my daughter
Fatima says to Al-Jazeera Net that after this experience, she turned into an intimate friend of her daughter, who has a relationship of understanding, dialogue and discussion, and not just a relationship of a mother who cares about and fear for her daughter to cruelty in some cases, which may afflict some girls with psychological contract and a sense of deficiency.

Five kilometers and three hundred meters along the Lusail International Circuit, Fatima traveled in a race with her daughter Sheikh in riding a bicycle, during which she felt the departure and pleasure in walking on large areas in the open air in a healthy and safe atmosphere, which created a new person who loves to practice sports, and made her think about changing Her lifestyle.

As for Sheikha, she seemed very happy with the experience she had for the first time in her life, and she enjoyed exercising for the first time with the closest people to her, especially as she loved biking.

Although the event is held for the distance of cutting the circuit at once, the sheikh's enthusiasm and energy were more than that, as she tried to complete a second round before listening to the organizers and contented with this amount and received a medal to finish the race to participate in this event.

The young girl asked about the new date at which the event will take place again, after the time she lived and enjoyed practicing her favorite sport in a family environment accompanied by her mother, and a safe place according to the laws and regulations of the Lusail International Circuit.

Strengthening the ropes of the family relationship
Dr. Noura Al Hammadi believes that an active lifestyle enhances physical and psychological well-being, which was compelled by the company of her daughter Aisha Hamad Al-Bishri to participate in the "mother and daughter" event in order to serve as a model for her.

Noura, who used to practice cycling on the Losail circuit every Tuesday - the women's day - found participating and competing with her daughter in this event, a great way to bond and strengthen the ropes of the family relationship.

Mariam Al Mazroui, who participated in the event with her niece Salwa Al Mutawa, believes that her participation allowed her to have a new experience in cycling, especially since she was previously used to walking only.

Al Mazrouei describes Al Jazeera Net as the experience of participating in the event in a wonderful way, especially that it encourages in a distinctive way the mother and daughter to play sports together, and create a distinctive family atmosphere away from the pressures of the home, which increases societal ties.

Al Mazroui was very happy for her niece Salwa, who enjoyed enjoying the experience and lived through a distinguished atmosphere, whether in sports or getting to know girls of her age who share the fun together.

Grandmothers, mothers and granddaughters
For her part, Dr. Asmaa Al-Muhannadi, the women's activity supervisor at the Draghi Qatar Center, confirms that the mother and daughter activities aim to enhance partnership and encourage family members to participate in social and sports activities, because of their positive impact on relations between family members.

Asmaa told Al Jazeera Net that the center is constantly working to coordinate and cooperate with the various authorities and institutions in the country, in order to implement events, activities and programs that participate in spreading sports culture in general, and cycling in particular.
