Informed sources in the Yemeni capital, Sanaa, confirmed the failure of the efforts of the UN envoy to Yemen, Martin Griffiths, and the European delegation represented by the ambassadors of France and the European Union, to persuade the Houthi coup militias to stop the military escalation, and return to unconditional negotiations.

The sources pointed out that Griffith met the militia leader, Abdul-Malik Al-Houthi, and the head of the so-called Houthi Supreme Political Council Mahdi Al-Mashat and a number of Houthi leaders in Sanaa, as part of his efforts to stop the military escalation that the militias recently launched in Marib, Sana'a, the Sahel and the rest of the regions, and his efforts to persuade the Houthis to enter into Unconditional peace negotiations with the legitimate government.

According to the sources, the UN envoy failed in his efforts, and clashed with the intransigence of the militias, which stipulated the cessation of the war by legitimacy and the alliance, the opening of Sanaa airport, and the release of prisoners. For its part, the legitimate Yemeni government accused the UN envoy of trying to cover up his failure to compel the Houthi revolutionary militias to implement the Sweden agreement.

The Yemeni Minister of Local Administration, Abdul Raqib Fateh, said that the UN envoy Martin Griffiths is trying to cover up his failure to compel the Houthi group to implement the Sweden agreement, which was sponsored by the United Nations between the government and the Houthis.
