According to the Pentagon, everyone suffered from "traumatic brain injuries", which translates directly into traumatic brain injuries. However, the medical term is used for all brain injuries that occur from head-to-head injuries, and also includes minor concussions.

It's unclear how seriously the 34 people were injured, but according to the Pentagon, half of them are back in service. In several cases, the symptoms first appeared several days after the event.

Defense Headquarters spokesman Jonathan Hoffman says 17 people were evacuated to clinics in Germany, and one to Kuwait. Of those who flew to Germany, nine remain, and the remaining eight have flown to the United States where they continue to be cared for or under observation. Sixteen people remained in Iraq and are all back in service.

Trump: Headache

After early reports of the injured became known, US President Donald Trump raised the issue during a press conference in Swiss Davos on Wednesday.

- I've heard that they had headaches, and some other things. But I can report that it is not that serious, Trump told ABC News.
