In the first interim report that Eskilstuna Municipality submitted in April last year, the forecast was that the municipality would go back SEK 16 million. An extensive savings package was introduced which, among other things, has meant a stoppage of purchases, restrictiveness of employment and increased level of dividend from the municipal companies.

Has yielded results

According to the municipality, the savings package has produced results and the deficit of SEK 16 million has been turned over to SEK 149 million. The budgeted result for 2019 was SEK 153 million.

According to the municipality, the stoppage of purchases has contributed to lower costs of SEK 80 million and the increased dividend level from the companies has in turn contributed a total of SEK 60 million.
