Capio St. Göran tops the list of hospitals

In 2018, Capio S: t Göran's hospital ended up in second place but climbed to a first place last year, writes the magazine Dagens Medicin. The hospital's emergency room, which is open 24 hours a day, according to the newspaper is clearly first and has a first place in the category of medicine.

But when it comes to the best medical decisions and availability at the country's university hospital, Karolinska University Hospital falls far down the list and ranks sixth. The best in the country is the University Hospital Örebro.

- Karolinska University Hospital continues to deliver high quality care. In 2019, we have further reduced the operating queues, among other things in cancer care, and opened several care sites. But of course we want to rank higher in the ranking that Dagens Medicin does, says Kim Sjölund, head of press at Karolinska University Hospital.

The magazine lists 61 emergency hospitals in three classes of university hospitals, medium-sized hospitals and smaller hospitals. It compares information from various national quality registers, the National Board of Health, the Swedish Municipalities and Regions and the Pregnancy Register.
