Drivers of the Paris metro on strike against the pension reform voted this Friday, January 17 in most of their general meetings the suspension of the movement from Monday, announced Saturday the union Unsa RATP Pole Traction.

Despite this suspension of the strike, Unsa says she is still " determined to continue the fight ". According to the union, it is for the strikers to " regain strength " before the next mobilization, scheduled for Friday, January 24, the day of the presentation of the reform project in the Council of Ministers, said Laurent Djebali, representative of metro drivers and RER at Unsa RATP, the leading union of the management.

Traffic should therefore resume normally on 12 metro lines, as well as on the RER A, he detailed. Metro lines 5 and 13, as well as RER B, could remain disrupted. Metro lines 1 and 14, automatic, will continue to operate normally.

"Pecuniary reasons"

" After 45 days of strike , a majority of general assemblies of the rail network decided to redirect, on Monday, the unlimited movement to focus on another form of action, " said in a press release the Unsa RATP Pôle Traction.

For many strikers, this decision was decided " for pecuniary reasons ": " We can understand that some colleagues need to bail out, " said LaurentDjebali.

However, "as soon as colleagues are ready, we set out again in unlimited, hoping for a convergence of struggles ". " There is no question of calling an end to the indefinite strike, on the contrary, " he insisted.
