The model has been banned from flying for ten months after 346 people were killed in two plane crashes. An error in the plane's software has since been linked to the accidents.
Boeing hopes to be able to rectify the new fault as soon as possible and does not think it will delay the process of getting the plane back in traffic, the company writes in a statement.
