When Chris Marschall discovered 25 missed calls during a trip in the middle of the day, she first thought that something happened to one of her daughters. But it turned out to be the police who sought her to tell her that her 92-year-old mother was in hospital after a robbery in the home.

- I threw myself on the train to visit her. I didn't recognize her. It was a completely swollen face full of strokes, the skin had broken. She was blue, blackish purple all over her face, from eyes to neck and she was not contactable. She had gotten so much soothing and painful that I could barely talk to her.

The doctors told me that the mother suffered from a brain haemorrhage, had multiple fractures to her face and neck.

Called 112 but can't remember what happened

Nobody knows exactly what happened. A young man knocked at a neighbor and was let into the stairs after he said he would greet his grandmother. The mother has alerted 112 a while later but remembers nothing.

- I suspect my mother has opened herself. She usually sleeps this time, but may have been unlucky when it rang on the door, been confused and opened. That's what I imagine. Then I hardly want to think about what has happened because it is so extremely unpleasant, says Chris Marschall.

Drawn office drawers and opened boxes showed that someone was looking for valuables, but it seems that the robber did not bring anything.

Will not dare move home again

During the winter, many elderly people in Malmö were affected by people who tried to fool themselves by pretending to be police or brokers, among other things. Some days some twenty people have been affected. Chris Marschall told about what hit her mother in a Southern Sweden submission which has caused many to be upset by the brutal abuse.

- I don't see how she can live the rest of the life she has left in a good way. That's the sad thing.
