Vladimir Putin took part in commemorative events dedicated to the 77th anniversary of the breaking of the siege of Leningrad. The head of state visited the updated exposition of the Museum of Defense and Blockade, which opened after reconstruction in September 2019. The President also laid a wreath at the Mother Motherland Monument, first presented medals in honor of the 75th anniversary of the Victory, and personally communicated with residents of St. Petersburg.
