The Ministry of Culture announced Friday the cancellation of the ceremony of the vows of Franck Riester, which was to take place Monday in Paris, because of an action that the CGT wanted to organize during this event to protest against the pension reform.

"We regret to inform you that the presentation of the wishes to the professionals of Culture which was to be held on Monday January 20, 2020 at 6.30 pm at the National Library of France is canceled. Indeed, the conditions are not met for that -this takes place serenely, "said the services of the ministry, in a message sent to the guests at this ceremony.

Questioned by AFP, a spokesman for the ministry confirmed this cancellation, by specifying that "the minister will soon have the opportunity to speak".

This decision was taken after the CGT announced its intention to take advantage of these wishes to reiterate its opposition to the pension reform.

The CGT Spectacle, the CGT Culture, the SNJ-CGT, the Filpac-CGT and the intersyndicale Culture had met their members on Monday at the BnF "to make our voices heard and to demand the withdrawal of the pension reform project ! ", according to a leaflet distributed Friday by these organizations.
