American Ricky Brabec (Honda) won the Dakar-2020 on Friday, the first to take place in Saudi Arabia, at the end of the twelfth stage between Haradh and Qiddiya.

Brabec, who took the second fastest time of the special behind his teammate Jose Cornejo, becomes the first American to win the famous rally-raid.

He finished with a lead of 16 min 26 seconds ahead of the Chilean Pablo Quintanilla (Husqvarna). Australian champion Toby Price (KTM) completes the podium.

The American had taken the lead in the general classification after his victory in the third stage at Neom so as not to let go.

The Dakar, the largest rally-raid in the world, changed scenery this year by settling in Saudi Arabia, after Africa and South America. The race must remain in the region for at least the next four years.
