- It's an emergency. We need to empty the boxes with collected batteries, says Martin Seeger, CEO of the Electric Circuit, to Expressen.

He explains that one must now find a solution to empty the boxes and sort the batteries. Thereafter, a new recycling must be procured.

Seeger says that it is never acceptable if a supplier or its subcontractors violate environmental regulations.

Urecycle recycles about 70 percent of the country's batteries. In December, Expressen revealed that a company hired by Urecycle dumped battery waste in nature at several locations in Örebro county.

A police investigation into serious environmental crime has been initiated. Prosecutor Helena Eckerrot Flodin tells Nerikes Allehanda that at least one person is suspected of crime, but that no one is deprived of liberty.
