11,000 residents evacuated in Dusseldorf due to war bomb


The authorities of the German city of Dusseldorf reported the evacuation of 11 thousand 650 inhabitants due to the discovery of a bomb from World War II.

“Within a radius of 500 m from the place of detection (bomb. - RT ) on Ulmensstrasse in the Derendorf district, up to 11,650 people must leave their homes,” the city’s official Twitter account said.

The authorities also clarified that the railway connection between Düsseldorf and Duisburg would not be interrupted during clearance.

On January 12, emergency services of Dortmund evacuated about 14 thousand people due to the discovery of aerial bombs from World War II.
