Marine Le Pen announced during her wishes to the press Thursday that she was launching a "pre-presidential" campaign to prepare for a "great change-over" to Emmanuel Macron during the 2022 election.

"Beyond the daily contests (...) we have entered a pre-presidential phase," said the president of the RN, who had already said he wanted to be a candidate in this election. "My decision has been considered, but it is taken. My project is to go towards a project of national unity around a great French design, a great unifying project which can bring together the French wherever they come from, a project of great alternation to put the country back on foot, "added the presidential finalist in 2017.

"It was therefore very early, without prejudging the decision which belongs to the congress of our movement which will take place in 2021, that I expressed my desire to prepare the presidential election," she insisted.
