Justin Trudeau expresses more criticism of the US than ever before about escalating the conflict with Iran.

"If it wasn't for the escalating tension in the region, these Canadians would be home with their families now," said Prime Minister Trudeau in an interview with Global News Television.

No information about drone attack

He adds that he obviously appreciated having been informed in advance of the US planned drone attack on Iranian general Qassem Soleimani on January 3rd. Canada is part of the NATO force in Iraq.

Talk to Trump

In the television interview, Trudeau says that in talks with US President Trump, he expressed the need for clear answers about how this could happen and how to make sure it doesn't happen again.

The anger is also directed at Iran with demands for justice, he continues.

Experts invited

Iran has invited Canadian experts to participate in the aircraft wreck investigations. Canada is demanding answers as to why Iranian airspace was not closed in connection with the Iranian robot attacks against Iraqi military bases.
