“Warsaw is constantly trying to rewrite historical events. They even in Soviet times showed disrespect for our common history. Nevertheless, I am convinced that the world community, which is not engaged and seeks to objectively evaluate history, does not understand and disapproves of the behavior of the Poles, ”the senator believes.

According to him, such behavior does not contribute to strengthening the authority of Poland on the world stage.

“Politics should be built on the basis of positive, mutual victories and achievements. The victory over the Nazi invaders is a common achievement and we give objective assessments of our past, ”he concluded.

Earlier in Warsaw, it was announced that January 17 - the day of the liberation of the Polish capital from Nazi invaders - is not celebrated at the official level.

As stated by a representative of the city authorities, while the administration registered two street events organized by private individuals.

It is also expected that the representative of Warsaw will lay flowers on January 17 at the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier at the invitation of the Union of Soldiers of the Polish Army.
