His Majesty Sultan Haitham bin Tariq bin Taimur Sultan of Oman assured that he will continue with the brothers leaders of the Gulf Cooperation Council states to contribute to pushing the process of cooperation between our countries to achieve the aspirations of our peoples and to advance the achievements of the Cooperation Council forward.
He also stressed the Sultanate of Oman’s continued support to the Arab League and cooperation with the leaders of Arab countries to achieve the goals of the League of Arab States and to advance the lives of our citizens and to distance this region from conflicts and disputes and work to achieve economic integration that serves the aspirations of the Arab peoples.
Sultan Haitham bin Tariq said - in a speech given by the Oman News Agency after he took oath today in a joint session of the Omani and Defense Councils - that the Sultanate of Oman will continue its role as an active member of the United Nations Organization that respects its charter and works with member states to achieve international peace and security and spread economic prosperity In all countries of the world and its relations with all countries of the world will be built on a great heritage left by the late Sultan, may the mercy and forgiveness of God be upon him, the basis of which is commitment to friendship and cooperation with all and respect for the covenants, laws and agreements that we have spent with various countries and organizations, stressing following in the footsteps The Sultanate of Oman, father foreign policy based on peaceful coexistence between nations and peoples, and good-neighborliness and non-interference in internal affairs and respect for the sovereignty of States and international cooperation in various fields.
