08 January 2020Paolo Dal Pino is the new president of the Serie A League. He was elected by the assembly of twenty clubs with 12 votes, one more than the simple majority required after two elective assemblies which failed.

Milanese, born in 1962, Dal Pino began his career as a manager in Fininvest in 1986, then holding top roles in publishing and telecommunications, in Mondadori, the Espresso group's Kataweb, Telecom, Seat Pg, Pirelli and Wind.

Dal Pino had already touched the appointment in the second elective assembly, last December 16, collecting 13 and 12 votes in the three ballots, including those of Rome, Lazio, Milan and Genoa.

With the quorum lowering, this time 12 was enough to be elected. A ballot was left blank and another 7 votes went to Gaetano Miccichè, who had resigned from the presidency of the League on November 19 after the Federal Prosecutor's inquiry into his election, and who was nominated shortly before the vote by the president of the Turin Urban Cairo.
