On the eve of a new week of negotiation and mobilization against the pension reform, the representatives of the left political parties and personalities together sign a petition for the withdrawal of the government project.

Among the signatories of the petition calling for the withdrawal of the pension reform project, we find all the tendencies of the left. The socialist Olivier Faure, the Insubmissive Jean-Luc Mélenchon, the communist Fabien Roussel, the ecologist Julien Bayrou, but also Raphaël Glucksmann of Place Publique or Olivier Besancenot of the NPA are included. Next to their names, that of CGT leader Philippe Martinez.

Rarely has the left displayed such unity in recent years. " This project is not acceptable, because it carries the regression of the rights of each and everyone ", explain the signatories, before adding: " This is why we ask for the withdrawal of the project presented by the Prime Minister, in order that real negotiations be opened without delay with the trade unions ”. They therefore join the hardest position, that of the CGT, and hope with this petition to obtain the support of the French.

We also find among the first signatories several personalities: the actresses Josiane Balasko and Corinne Masiero, the journalist Audrey Pulvar, in particular. By mid-afternoon this Sunday, more than 17,860 people had added their names to it.

According to a survey published by the Journal du dimanche , 44% of those questioned said they supported the mobilization against the reform project. A figure in decline and falling below 50% for the first time since the start of the movement, on December 5. Fifty-five percent of those questioned replied, however, that they did not want the government to go through with its reform.

In this pivotal moment for the pursuit of the protest, the left is committed to stand united behind the unions against the government.
