70% of the oil we use is from the Middle East, and there are many Koreans, so the government is very nervous. In the case of Britain, we plan to send a navy to escort crude oil carriers, but we have to go that far.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs held an emergency meeting today (5th) to maintain a 24-hour emergency response system to ensure the safety of our citizens in the Middle East.

More than 1,600 Koreans in Iraq, 290 in Iran, and 150 and 700 are in Lebanon and Israel, respectively, who are talking about possible retaliation by Iran.

Foreign Ministry officials said, "To date, both Koreans and businesses have been identified as safe."

Iranian troops have threatened to blockade the Strait of Hormuz, where 70 percent of our crude oil passes.

At the request of the United States, our government, which has been considering the dispatch of Hormuz, is deepening.

The government has been considering expanding the operational area of the Blue Sea unit, which is currently tasked with clearing pirates from Aden Bay, to the Strait of Hormuz.

However, debate over whether Iran's submarines are appropriate for the introduction of the listening unit and whether they agree to ratify the National Assembly is inevitable.

The government says it is struggling under the principle of "participating in international efforts for safe navigation," which is the first step in deploying Hormuz to send our military liaison officers to the US military.
