A doorbell could solve a murder in the United States. The confessions of a man suspected of having killed his sister last week were recorded by the connected doorbell of his victim's home in the suburbs of Austin. The device's camera filmed 25-year-old Michael Egwuagu, leaving the home with a bloody kitchen knife in his hand, local police said. "I killed Jennifer," said the young man, a former college football player, on the tape.

The images confirm the details provided by an eyewitness statement, CNN reports on Thursday. Linda Mura indeed told investigators that Jennifer Chioma Ebichi, the 32-year-old victim, asked her to come see her. When she arrived, she saw the suspect leave the premises.

Three months pregnant

The deceased young woman had another twin brother. He also explained that she had texted him to join her. Once there, he discovered the lifeless body of his sister bathed in a pool of blood while his two children were nearby. The victim's twin brother and witnesses living in the neighborhood told police that they saw the suspect kneeling on the street in a prayer position. The man then undressed and threw his blood-covered clothes in a trash can.

The autopsy performed on the body of Jennifer Chioma Ebichi showed that the latter was three months pregnant. She died after receiving at least a dozen stab wounds.
