The police in Stockholm County received some 40 calls about fireworks in the hours before and after the twelve o'clock, among other things, rockets were fired indoors at the Bagarmossen subway station. In Husby, two people were taken into custody after police fired with New Year's rockets, and in Upplands Väsby, a minor fire started in the ground floor of a house, according to the rescue service caused by a firework display.

- It is as one would expect a New Year. A lot to do with brawling and filling, but nothing more serious, says Ewa Nilsson at Stockholm Police to TT at 01.30.

"It rings uninterrupted"

Even in Gothenburg, the start of the New Year's night was messy when a lot of people moved in the central parts of the city.

-It's messy. It rings uninterrupted, but we have no very serious things so far. There is a lot of noise and crowding, and a lot of people getting shot with rockets, but not against the police what we have been told, says Ann-Christin Löfstrand, at the police region West, to TT at 02.30.

The emergency service in Gothenburg received around 30 alarms until 02, which Chief of Staff Anders Gärdhage states in a press release is normal for a New Year's Eve. Most events were of a minor size, including a number of fires in vehicles and containers.

Several other rescue services, including in Västerås and Linköping, report on a number of minor fires outdoors.

Worried in Borlänge

In Borås, passersby and cars in the Norrby district were shot with rockets. When the police came to the scene, they were also shot.

- The police should have received about 20 rockets aimed at them when they got there. It ended with us taking care of a man at the age of 25 to disrupt the general order, says Jörgen Lindén, station commander at Boråspolis police to Borås Tidning.

Police in Borlänge also fired rockets and rescue services with rockets. After going out on an alarm about a balcony fire shortly after midnight, they were met by stone throwing and rocket fire.

- A police officer was hit by a rock, but must have managed without injuries, says Erik Hiding, watchdog officer at the Bergslagen Police Region, to the Dalarnas Tidningar.

He says there was concern at the site around midnight. The alarm about the balcony that burned came about 00.30 the night towards New Year's Day.

- The cause of the fire was a rocket. Rockets have been fired at houses, cars and people, says Erik Hiding.
