Today, Tuesday, supporters of the factions affiliated with the Popular Mobilization Forces stormed the outer fence of the American embattled headquarters in the Green Zone in Baghdad for the first time since its construction after the US war in Iraq in 2003.
And the storming process took place against the background of the protests that accompanied the funeral procession of the American Air Force bombing of the "Hezbollah Brigades" sites affiliated with the PMF.

The funeral procession took place in the closed green zone for months, against the backdrop of the protest demonstrations taking place in Iraq since last October until now.

Witnesses said that the Iraqi forces that closed the road leading to the American embassy did not prevent the participants in the funeral from entering the street and then stormed the embassy building, burning the American flag and chanting slogans against America.

Witnesses added: "Marquees and tents are currently being erected in front of the embassy headquarters for the sit-in until the embassy is completely closed."

The Iraqi government and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs have not yet issued any position regarding storming the headquarters of the American embassy.

Witnesses stated that the Green Zone is now experiencing human overcrowding with the participation of senior leaders of the "Popular Mobilization", including Hadi al-Amiri, Qais al-Khazali, Abu Mahdi al-Muhandis and other leaders, military and security leaders, and hundreds of Hashd forces wearing military uniforms.

According to witnesses, the flags of the armed factions, the Iraqi "Hizbullah" and the Popular Mobilization Authority are being raised heavily despite the widespread deployment of Iraqi forces.

Two officials at the Iraqi Foreign Ministry told "Reuters" that the American ambassador and other employees of the embassy in the capital, Baghdad, had been evacuated in light of the escalation of protests outside it.

American forces fired tear gas and smoke bombs to disperse the thousands of protesters, some of whom stormed the US embassy in Baghdad, and set fire to one of its walls.
