50 students from the talented and creative associates of the Hamdan Bin Rashid Al Maktoum Center for Talent and Innovation, “Fab Lab Emirates”, implemented four programs in artificial intelligence, during the winter camp that recently concluded its activities, namely, “Smart Electronics Experts”, “Professional Programmer”, and “ Scientific communication, ”and“ interesting technical tools. ”

The Hamdan Bin Rashid Al Maktoum Foundation for Excellence in Educational Performance stated that the camp aimed to provide an educational environment that allows talented individuals to highlight their capabilities and develop their capabilities and talents, and provide educational alternatives and experiences that respond to the needs of gifted students, and enhance teamwork skills and team spirit through activities and workshops, and highlight the talents of talented students And invest their capabilities to motivate them to creativity, and develop the personal and social skills of gifted students.

She pointed out that the program "smart electronics experts" worked to enable students to understand electronics, as Arduino was relied on in this program as one of the most important electronic development boards. The students were enrolled in the ARDUINO CTC platform, which included five stages: electronic processing language, applications in space, applications in sports, applications in robotics, and creative applications where students need 60 to 80 training hours to finish the five stages. At the end of the program, all students designed an innovative project that was sent to the Arduino platform, in which students whose projects were accepted received an accredited certificate from Arduino.

Gifted students through this program develop their innovative programming-based projects, as students convert their prototypes into practical projects that can be used on a daily basis, in addition to preparing them to compete strongly in upcoming exhibitions and scientific innovation competitions.

During the program, a group of students presented six projects that were designed using programming languages, artificial intelligence and Internet of Things technology, which included a smart box robot that can track its owner and carry heavy objects in his stead, in addition to the project of converting home rooms into smart rooms that automatically control lighting and turn on the air-conditioner , As well as an interactive map project that allows visitors to the center to learn about the events and their locations.

In this program, science learning mixes with fun, as students are trained in the scientific methodology of thinking, the basics of scientific research and some methods of science delivery that help build a generation of researchers and explorers who have sufficient skills to simplify the science and knowledge that they have and deliver them creatively to the public. The implementation of this came through an exploratory journey, at which time the students discovered the scientific challenges that faced previous scientists. Students were also introduced to the secrets because of the different inventions, and how scientists were able to overcome these challenges. The talented students during this program prepared a project in which they presented their research to the general public with different methods of communicating sciences.

The program was designed to teach new students the principles of electronics and computer thinking by building students with simple electronic tools such as wrist and alarm clocks, home protection devices and other tools that are used during daily life, and then programmed to do their tasks and connect them to the Internet to control them remotely.

The first stage of the program began, students learned the basics of manual work, and during the phase students designed various engineering bodies on cardboards, then installed them to build creative shapes.

In the second stage, students learned the basics of electronic engineering and building electronic circuits, and then students graduated in their practical applications from simple electronic circuits to the introduction of different sensors, and then programmed them to form more complex electronic circuits with the ability to control them via the Internet.

Human-centered comprehensive development

Deputy Chairman of the Board of Trustees, Secretary General of the Hamdan Bin Rashid Al Maktoum Foundation for Excellence in Educational Performance, Dr. Jamal Al Muhairi said: “We believe in the Hamdan Bin Rashid Al Maktoum Foundation for Excellence in Educational Performance that comprehensive development is human-centered, by enabling and equipping it with various skills and sciences in order to prepare it for the future. And the challenges it carries, to be able to lead a system of positive change in the walks of life in the UAE ».

• The camp aimed to provide an educational environment that allows talented people to show their abilities and develop their potentials and talents.
