The alarm about the container fire on Järrestadsgatan came shortly after 19 o'clock on Sunday evening. At the scene, rescue services were met by 15-20 young people and then asked for assistance from police.

"We choose to do so when we know it can be messy in an area," says Dan Svensson, internal commander at the emergency services in Kristianstad.

But when the police patrol arrived, they were met by rockets from the youths. It is unclear to what extent and whether the firework pieces are fired against the police vehicle or the police officers who worked on the spot. There is also no information that the rockets were fired at rescue services.

"No one was physically injured," said Rickard Lundqvist, a police spokesman.

No one has been arrested yet, but the police state that some of the perpetrators must be identified.

A similar incident occurred on Långebrogatan in Kristianstad the night of Sunday. Even then, rockets were fired at a police patrol.

"The rocket fire started in the same second as the patrol got out of the car," said Katarina Rusin, a police spokeswoman.
