Zlatan Ibrahimovic has reached an agreement with AC Milan to join his former club for six months, several Italian media said on Thursday.

According to Gazzetta Dello Sport, the Swede has accepted the offer from the Lombard club and should arrive in Milan "in the coming days".

"The parties have agreed and are in the process of concluding the deal. The Swede is back with the Rossoneri", writes the sports daily.

According to media reports, Ibrahimovic would arrive in Milan with a six-month contract, estimated at 3 million euros and with the option of an additional year.

Free since leaving the Los Angeles Galaxy, the 38-year-old forward should be available for the next AC Milan game, January 6 against Sampdoria.

"Ibra, who has been at a standstill since mid-November, will need two to three weeks to regain good form," said the Gazzetta, however.

The Rossoneri, struggling since the start of the season, suffered their worst defeat in 21 years last weekend, losing 5-0 to Atalanta, and are currently eleventh in Serie A.

Ibrahimovic played two seasons at AC Milan between 2010 and 2012. The Swede had scored 42 goals in 61 games, making a large contribution to the Italian club's last title won at the end of the 2010/2011 season.
