The alarm came from a passer-by after 6am on Wednesday, police say on their website. The suspicious object was found outside an entrance at a property on Bruksgatan.
The area has been blocked off and people living in neighboring buildings will be evacuated. National bomb protection is underway for an investigation into the suspected object.
