- November.The worst storm of autumn with 37 provinces warned by snow, wind, waves or rain
The Christmas holidays have started with stable weather and temperatures above average, a situation that will remain until next January 2, according to the special prediction published this Wednesday by the State Meteorological Agency ( Aemet ). From this Thursday until the 31st, the anticyclonic situation will continue throughout the country, with a predominance of skies that are not very cloudy or with high-type clouds that will not leave precipitation.
Most significant, according to Aemet, will be the formation of mists and low strata in both plateaus and interior of the peninsular northeast, which could be persistent. In addition, morning mists are expected in the Mediterranean area and in the Canary Islands , calm, more likely in the eastern islands.
Temperatures , nocturnal and daytime, will be maintained with values higher than usual for the time of year, except in areas where the fog persists. As for the wind , the agency emphasizes that the most relevant will be the strong lift in the Strait during the weekend.
For the first two days of 2020, although the uncertainty in the expected evolution increases slightly, most of the scenarios maintain the predominance of stable weather and temperatures above the normal values of these dates.
Only a month ago Spain was going through one of the worst autumn storms, with 37 provinces with a warning of snowfall, strong wind, intense waves and persistent rains. A wave of cold air hit the country, reaching temperatures of up to 10 degrees below the usual in a month of November.
