The mood is high already when SVT News looks past at lunchtime on Christmas Eve. On a long bar counter, volunteers line up mountains of donated food and it's just to take care. On stage, the opera singer entertains Rickard Söderberg, one of many who chose to set up and work for free this day.

- Christmas stands for community. In this cold and dark time, it is important to create such meeting places and small moments of ... yes, Christmas holidays simply, Rickard Söderberg says.

"Fantastic take part in the joy"

Behind the event, which takes place at 10-20 on Christmas Eve, stands the nonprofit Cool Minds, which works to make everyone - homeless, vulnerable, lonely or just party happy - feel welcome.

- This is the third time we are here as volunteers and it is just as wonderful every time. We have no one else to celebrate Christmas with, so for us it is fantastic to be able to participate in the joy here, says Inger Lindholm, who together with his partner Mats Eneroth will hold the positions in the venue during the afternoon and evening.
