Shortly before half past three on Monday afternoon, police noticed a car traveling at high speed on the E4 at the Nyköping Bridge. According to the police, the driver must have driven about other drivers from both right and left.

- His driving was different from the normal and the police patrol wanted to do a check, but then he slowed down and then it went away, says Thomas Agnevik.

"We had at least four police cars chasing him"

Police had to hunt down after four minutes as there were many cars on the E4 during the Christmas rush.

"We had at least four police cars chasing him, but we can't drive the same way these people think they are entitled to," he says.

After the driver manages to drive away from the police, another patrol sees him again. This time on County Road 216. The police made a stop sign to the driver but he again refused to stop.

- He was driving about 200 km / h, and I heard the patrol from the radio saying "now we don't see him anymore," says Thomas Agnevik.

Drove down the ditch

After the police once again lost contact with the driver, a patrol eventually found the driver at Ovanå in Björkvik.

- A little later a patrol had prepared a nail mat but the driver had to drive off the road and down a ditch. It's just good that no motorist was injured, he says.

The motorist did well but was taken to the police station for sampling and interrogation. He was then released freely.

The man is suspected of drunken driving, gross negligence in traffic and several cases of speeding violations.
