Hamdan bin Mohammed launches the Dubai program for future experts

His Highness Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai and Chairman of the Executive Council and Chairman of the Board of Trustees of the Dubai Future Foundation, confirmed that Dubai continues to develop its leading global experience in the field of prospecting, designing and preparing for the future, in order to achieve the directives of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President, Prime Minister and Ruler of Dubai, the necessity of encouraging and preparing national talents to come out with future projects, initiatives and products that start from Dubai to the world.

This came on the occasion of His Highness launching the Dubai Future Experts Program, which is supervised by Dubai Future Academy, and aims to develop the capabilities of Emirati cadres and provide them with knowledge, skills and experience, to activate their role in promoting a culture of forward-looking and designing the future in government agencies in the Emirate of Dubai.

His Highness said: «The program aims to build an elite group of specialists in strategic and vital sectors, and we seek to empower tomorrow’s generation with skills foreseeing and designing the future to enhance their role in developing new projects and initiatives that shape the future of Dubai.

His Highness added: “I invite all government agencies in Dubai to nominate their talented cadres in the future prospecting sector to acquire new experiences and skills that enhance their leadership role in improving the performance of government sectors and develop future projects that support the efforts of Dubai and the UAE to anticipate the future.”

His Highness Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum said that the launch of the program constitutes a new step to prepare the next generation of future experts in various strategic and vital sectors by developing a methodology for forward-looking thought in the government sector, and providing them with tools of logical thinking in future sectors, and the skills of identifying and analyzing the most important changes to Local, regional and global level.

Affiliates of the Dubai Future Experts Program will be chosen through the nominations of government agencies for their employees who have design thinking skills, while employees of government agencies who have forward-looking skills can nominate themselves individually through the Dubai Future Academy website.

The Dubai Future Experts program contributes to developing the skills of associates in the fields of strategic thinking, social intelligence, project management, future supervision and design, scientific, cultural and technological sectors, decision-making and the development of policies, laws and legislation, and the employment of various tools to identify opportunities for creating new economic regions in the UAE in various sectors.

The program, which was developed in partnership between the Executive Council of the Emirate of Dubai and the Dubai Foundation for the Future, provides an opportunity for participants to develop their capabilities in anticipating and visualizing the future in a way that is in line with the directions of the UAE, and enhancing the ability to develop legislation and policies to keep pace with changes and requirements of the future, and support a culture of leadership in anticipating the future of strategic sectors in Country.

The Dubai Future Academy supervises the implementation of the program, which extends for a year and a half, and includes three levels of six months duration, and provides affiliates with the opportunity to graduate from the degree of "future analyst" to "future executive", and then to "future strategist". A unique methodology will be used that includes associating members in the development and implementation of the program gradually from the first to the third level, bringing their contribution to 90% by the end of the program.

The Academy also provides affiliates with the possibility to collaborate with various initiatives, entrepreneurs, accelerator programs and business incubators in the region of 2071, in addition to a wide network of decision makers and the Research and Knowledge Center provided by Dubai Future Foundation.

A group of experts, scientists, business leaders and CEOs from all over the world participate in the preparation and presentation of the program in the sectors of scenario planning and future expectations, the methodology of looking ahead and applying the future on the ground and telling future stories.

The program targets employees of government agencies in Dubai at the level of middle and higher departments who have previous experience or experience in the field of designing and implementing strategies or the ability to foresee the future in health, cities, transportation, education, talents, security, energy, culture, technology, media, communications, and other strategic sectors.

Those who wish to join the Dubai Future Experts Program will undergo a comprehensive evaluation via the Internet that includes a questionnaire to determine competency and a platform for direct supervision to assess the aspirations of future participants, in addition to conducting personal interviews with them to assess the capabilities of the participants in the field of prospecting the future.

The Dubai Future Experts Program provides affiliates an opportunity to learn about the best international experiences and practices in the field of prospecting the future through field visits and business tours in the UAE and abroad.

Personal and business development opportunities

Affiliates of the Dubai Future Experts Program are working on preparing future projects within an intensive program that includes lectures, workshops and practical training on diagnostic mechanisms for future prospecting culture, strategies and application mechanisms, in addition to developing their skills in managing future projects and developing initiatives and concepts of future leadership.

These projects focus on the future of the strategic sectors in Dubai and the UAE in 2021, where each associate will present a research study on the future of the sector in which he works, and upon completion of all the required stages, the affiliates will work to unify their results during the stages of the educational journey in the form of a ring Research or initial form, and the best projects in the program will be nominated for display in the 2071 region.
