The Telecommunications Regulatory Authority announced that the Abu Dhabi Police Emergency Center obtained the international accreditation from a company specialized in safety and security solutions for the automatic communication system ECall, within the framework of the “Fazaa” initiative recently developed by the authority, through which the vehicles are provided with the feature of automatic communication with the emergency center In the event of a traffic accident.

The Authority, during a press conference held yesterday at its headquarters in Abu Dhabi, in cooperation with Abu Dhabi Police, stated that
The system will be applied to all new cars in the country by 2021.

Through the initiative, "any vehicle that suffers a traffic accident will send all the necessary information about the accident automatically, such as the location, type of vehicle and fuel type, in addition to the number of people inside the car at the time of the accident."

The Telecommunications Regulatory Authority developed the "Fazaa" initiative, in cooperation with the Standards and Metrology Authority and the police authorities in the country, to activate the systems for receiving calls, with the aim of reducing the time to report vehicles that have been hit by road accidents.
