This is stated in a message on the website of the regional department of the State Emergency Service.
“By order of the State Service for Emergency Situations of Ukraine dated December 19, 2019 ... Major General of the Civil Protection Service Viktor Fedorchak, the head of the Main Directorate of the State Service for Emergency Situations of Ukraine in Odessa Region was dismissed from the civil protection service,” the message said.
Deputy Fedorchak Mikhail Vovk was also dismissed.
The new head of the department was appointed Vadim Shulyuk, who previously held the post of first deputy head of the regional department.
On December 4, a fire occurred in the educational building of the Odessa College of Economics, Law and the Hotel and Restaurant Business, which killed 16 people.
On December 14, rescuers officially announced the completion of the fire response at the college.
