He said that the reasons for the termination of broadcasting RT in Ecuador "can only explain the National Council for Telecommunications."
The ambassador added that, as he knew, these reasons "are of a purely technical nature."
“I cannot answer for them, but we believe that this decision can be reconsidered after steps are taken to establish dialogue between the parties,” he said.
A senior diplomat also said that "he will personally try to contribute to this."
In November, Ecuador's National Cable Network disconnected RT from broadcasting. This happened without prior notice and explanation of reasons.
Former Ecuadorian President Rafael Correa, who started a weekly political talk show on RT in 2018, said the situation looks like censorship and double standards.
