“Information from some media that the amount of damage caused by the fire at the Admiral Kuznetsov TAVKR allegedly equal to the cost of the aircraft carrier cruiser itself is completely untrue,” TASS quoted him as saying.
According to him, the fire "will not have a significant impact on the budget and terms of repair of the cruiser."
The fire at Admiral Kuznetsov occurred on December 12 during welding work in the area of the first energy compartment, when a spark fell into the hold space with fuel oil.
As a result of the incident, two people were killed and more than ten were injured.
The Investigative Committee of Russia opened a criminal case.
It is noted that the cruiser is being repaired in areas remote from the fire zone, while hot work is prohibited.
