"Sterile Hijab" This is how a British hospital presented an idea developed by a young doctor to combine hijab and health standards in operating rooms. The hospital said it was the first time that the case had gone public, although it had always been discussed in operating rooms.

The young doctor, Farah Raslan, says the idea came because of fears of infection in the operating rooms because of the veil she wears throughout the day.

The hospital provided a "sterile, disposable veil" that fits female veiled women in operating rooms. The Royal Derby Hospital published a tweet on his account on the website "Twitter", in which he stated that the idea is due to the young doctor Farah Raslan, who developed the idea during her training inside the hospital.

We are proud to be national leaders of good practice and inclusivity.

Hospital operators believe it is the first time in the UK that a suitable hijab has been provided for operating theaters. The Malaysian doctor said that her idea came because of fears of transmission due to her veil that she wears all the time.

Farah Raslan hopes that this sterile veil will remove one of the obstacles preventing more talents from being drawn into the world of surgery.

"I used to wear the same headscarf all day, which is of course not perfect in terms of hygiene," she said. "I didn't feel comfortable removing him (the veil) and I was being taken out of respect from the operating rooms because of the fear of infection," she added.

The young doctor explained - in comments reported by the British Broadcasting Corporation (BBC) - that she needed a compromise that combines "professional standards for clothing and belief," which prompted her to search in Malaysia for the appropriate design and materials to manufacture this veil.

The hospital statement indicated that it is probably the first time that this veil has been introduced in the United Kingdom, and also talk openly about this issue that is being raised in all operating rooms in the country.

Through her Twitter account, Farah Raslan expressed her hope that this shape of the veil will remove one of the main obstacles to attracting more talents to the field of surgery.
