The funeral of actress and singer Anna Karina, icon of the New Wave, who died at 79 on December 14 will take place Saturday in Paris, the family announced to AFP.

Reserved for family and close friends, a ceremony will take place at the end of the morning in the Chapelle de l'Est, within the grounds of the Père Lachaise cemetery.

"Anna Karina will be buried at 12:15 pm, in the strictest privacy. The public who wishes can then give her a last goodbye," we said.

In a message accompanying the announcement, the filmmaker and producer Dennis Berry, husband of Anna Karina, indicates that the death "is in no way due to cancer" as announced by his agent, but "to a postoperative complication ".

Known in particular for her roles in the films of Jean-Luc Godard of which she was the companion in the 60s, Anna Karina, also had a career as a singer, notably alongside Serge Gainsbourg.

In the memory of moviegoers, the actress will remain this libertarian ingenuous who nonchalantly declaimed "What can I do? I don't know what to do ...", cult replica of "Pierrot le fou" (1965 ).
