Two months ago, SVT News West reported on the police alarm that high school students are increasingly caught with drugs. In targeted actions, the police's street-laying group met both high school and high school students affected by heavy drug preparations such as tramadol, amphetamine and cocaine.

More common among students in Majorna-Linné

At the same time, the municipality presented a new drug habit study showing that drug use among high school students in Majorna-Linné is higher than in other districts in Gothenburg.

In the survey, 13 percent stated that they had ever used drugs, which is a larger proportion of students than in any other district.

This now causes Rickard Öh, headmaster of grades 7-9 at Nordhemsskolan, to react.

- I think it's alarming, for many years Majorna-Linnaeus has stuck out. It is young people who attend my school and we have to do something about it, he says.

Why do you think Majorna-Linné stands out?

- If you look at the drug habit study, young people state that they have a liberal attitude towards cannabis. And then it is easy to conclude that the liberal attitude simply gives the effect that one dares to test.

"We should look at the children's cell phones"

According to Rickard Öh, there are students at the school who use drugs and when it is discovered, the school notifies the social services and talks with custodians. The school also works preventively by discussing, among other things, the consequences of drug use in education.

But that's not enough, says Rickard Oh. He thinks that parents should take more responsibility.

- I think the adult world needs to set clearer boundaries. We should look at our children's mobile phones, what contacts they have and who they mess with.

Isn't that a violation of privacy?

- I personally think that when you as a custodian pay for the mobile that the child has, you are entitled to it, says Rickard Öh.
