The sardine movement took to the streets also in Brussels. There are a few hundred people who responded to the call of the organizers, and who gathered in one of the squares of the city center, place de l'Albertine, carrying around the now famous posters depicting small fish.

Sardines are not at their first appearance in Belgium: they had already gathered in Antwerp in early December on the occasion of Matteo Salvini's participation in a demonstration organized by the European political group Identità e Democrazia, which also includes the Flemish of Vlaams Belang.

'Paris does not bind', party at the Eiffel Tower
"Paris does not bind": a 'bank' of sardines, over two hundred according to the organizers, gathered in a festive atmosphere, with songs, dances and speeches of civil commitment, in the Trocadéro area, in front of the Eiffel Tower, in contemporary with other events such as the one in Piazza San Giovanni in Rome.

In the so-called 'Parvis des Droits de l'Homme' - the square of Human Rights' - the echo of songs that have now become part of the 'fish' repertoire of sardines resounded, from Lucio's' Com'è profondo il mare ' From a 'La Libertà' by Giorgio Gaber and 'People have the power' by Patti Smith. Songs and dances interrupted by brief speeches against Matteo Salvini's way of doing politics and readings of the Italian Constitution.

The square was surrounded by an unusual and unexpected winter sun, quite rare in the French capital also this weekend, prey to the inconvenience for the transport strike against the pension reform of Emmanuel Macron.
