There have been many and long-standing problems with the wagons from Italy, including chillies and rust, but the M32 will continue to run in Gothenburg. When Västtrafik this time bought 40 trams from Bombardier and Kiepe Electric, where they are manufactured partly in Germany and partly in Austria, they have been careful to get it right.

An accuracy that meant delivery delays of six months.

- Above all, the grin has been addressed in a completely different way, says Peter Hermansson (M), chairman of Västtrafik.

- The difference between the M33 and the Italian wagons is that the bogie is mobile, they are not on the Italian wagons.

Double door systems facilitate

Another advantage of the new tram is that ten trolleys are bidirectional, which means that the doors can be opened on both sides of the trolley when needed, without having to turn in a turnstile.

Now the wagon is called M33 because it is 33 meters long, but it also costs almost SEK 33 million each, is it worth it?

- Trams are not a cheap product, but considering the carts we bought in the 60s, you can say that it is a product that is likely to last a very long time, so you can see it over time, says Peter Hermansson (M).
